SAP CENTER AT SAN JOSE
Since opening in September 1993, SAP Center at San Jose has welcomed over 35 million visitors and continues to be one of the most popular destinations for sports and entertainment in North America. Home to both the San Jose Sharks and San Jose Barracuda, the Center is located at the west end of Downtown San Jose. With its distinctive glass pyramid entrances and stainless steel facade, SAP Center at San Jose is 425 feet by 425 feet in length and stands 117 feet high. For events, the Center can seat 17,500 for hockey and 18,500 for basketball, concerts, and other events. The Center is owned by the City of San Jose and operated by Sharks Sports & Entertainment.
Some of the features of SAP Center at San Jose include an open, inviting public concourse, an intimate club area, 64 executive suites (21 concourse suites and 43 penthouse suites), and a penthouse plaza for social and professional gatherings. Access and parking for events at SAP Center at San Jose is well designed and managed. There are over 1,600 on-site parking spaces with over 8,000 parking spaces within a half-mile of the Center. Public transit options to SAP Center at San Jose include Caltrain and Valley Transportation Authority bus and light rail transit services.
To ensure that all Center events are managed and executed in a fashion that benefit visiting patrons and protect the integrity of the adjacent neighborhoods, the Arena Authority oversees the management of a comprehensive event operations plan as well as ongoing facility capital improvements and maintenance programs.
